CORBIN — The Lady Redhounds continued their strong run through 50th District competition on Tuesday, defeating South Laurel in straight sets, 25-15, 25-16, 25-17.
The win improved Corbin to 17-6 overall and 5-0 in district play. South Laurel dropped to 6-13 and 0-5 against district opponents with the loss.
“Tonight was a good district win for our girls at home,” Corbin coach Krystal Jones said. “We were missing a player to injury, but the team pulled together and trusted each other to get it done.
“Our senior, Brooke Mills, really stepped up in a big way,” she added. “She brought energy and gave us exactly what we needed. That’s the kind of leadership you want from a senior, and she delivered. I’m proud of the fight and the way this group keeps finding ways to grow. Brick by brick, we’ll keep building. Go Hounds.”
