PINEVILLE — The Pineville Lady Mountain Lions put together a strong showing Monday night, defeating the Harlan Lady Green Dragons, 3–0, to even their record at 8–8 on the season.
Set 1
After Harlan briefly led 3–2, Pineville responded with an 8–0 run to seize control at 10–3. The Lady Mountain Lions extended their advantage to 18–8 and closed out the set, 25–13.
Set 2
Harlan jumped out early with a 7–2 lead and maintained control midway through, going up 16–9. Pineville stormed back, however, cutting the deficit to 18–17 and then finishing the set with a decisive 7–0 run to claim a 25–20 victory.
Set 3
Harlan again started fast, building a 7–0 lead before Pineville regrouped. The Lady Mountain Lions rallied to tie the set at 16 before pulling away down the stretch. They closed on a 9–4 run to win 25–20 and secure the sweep.
With the victory, Pineville improves to 8–8 overall while Harlan drops to 7–15.
