CORBIN — Krystal Jones’ Corbin Lady Redhounds, finished with a 1-1 mark in the Kentucky 2A Volleyball State Tournament, losing to Adair County before defeating Calloway County.
“This weekend gave us exactly what we needed, great competition and a chance to grow,” Jones said. “We opened with Adair County, a tough, disciplined team, and dropped the match in four sets (25-14, 26-24, 25-14, 25-20). While it didn’t go our way, it was a valuable test for us. We were pushed in every phase of the game and had to battle through long rallies, which will make us better moving forward.
“In our second match, we bounced back strong with a two-set win over Calloway County (25-12, 25-11),” she added. “I was proud of the way our girls responded after the first match, playing with energy, staying disciplined, and controlling the pace of the game. Overall, it was a weekend of growth. We saw areas we need to sharpen, but also glimpses of the team we’re becoming. These are the kinds of matches that prepare us for the postseason. As always, Go Hounds.”
