PINEVILLE — Pineville picked up a convincing 3-0 win over J. Frank White Academy on Monday, improving its record to 7-8 on the season.
The Lady Lions came out strong in the opening set, jumping to a 6-0 lead that forced an early timeout. They never looked back, dominating the frame 25-10.
Pineville carried the momentum into the second set, steadily building a lead behind consistent play at the net and strong serving. They pulled away late to take the set 25-16.
In the third, Pineville once again controlled the pace, opening with an 11-6 advantage before stretching the lead to 17-7. JFW closed the gap to within three, but Pineville regrouped and finished off the match with a 25-17 win.
The sweep gives Pineville its seventh victory of the year. The Lady Lions will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 11, when they travel to face Redbird.
