CORBIN — Lynn Camp’s unbeaten start to the season came to a crushing end Friday as Knott Central connected on a 10-yard touchdown pass on fourth-and-goal as the buzzer sounded, lifting the Patriots to a 36–30 victory.
The loss dropped the Wildcats to 2–1, despite another monster night from their backfield.
Senior running back DJ Wren powered his way to more than 350 rushing yards and three touchdowns, while teammate Braylon Humfleet added over 100 yards on the ground with a score of his own.
Lynn Camp held its own in a back-and-forth battle, but Knott Central’s last-second strike proved to be the difference.
“I’m really proud of how our guys battled,” Hendrix said. “This was a hard loss cause the guys really left it all on the field. DJ Wren rushed for over 350 yards and three touchdowns and Braylon Humfleet rushed for over 100 yards and scored once.”
