WILLIAMSBURG — The Whitley County Lady Colonels put together one of their strongest outings of the season Tuesday, cruising past district rival Knox Central with a 9-1 victory.

The win improved Whitley County to 4-2 on the year.

The Lady Colonels’ attack was led by standout forward Jerrica Shepard, who finished with four goals and one assist in a dominant performance. Courtney Smith added a goal and two assists, while Maddison Wilson, Gabrielle Fore, and Kaylee Bunch each found the back of the net. Kierra Mullins contributed two assists, with Callie McQueen and Keira Cheek also tallying an assist apiece.

The offensive explosion, paired with disciplined team play, gave Whitley County full control from start to finish.

“Great overall performance from the team,” Whitley County coach Nick Shearer said. “We had a lot of players step up and play different positions tonight. The effort from our players tonight was great and we are now looking forward to our next game on Thursday.”
