Pineville bounces back with sweep of Oneida Baptist

PINEVILLE — After a tough weekend in the Williamsburg All “A” Invitational Tournament, where Pineville dropped four straight matches, the Lady Lions returned home Monday determined to get back on track.

They did just that, rolling past Oneida Baptist in straight sets, 25-18, 25-22, 25-16.

The victory marked a strong response for Samantha North’s squad, who improved to 3-5 on the season with the win.

Pineville controlled the tempo early, using consistent serving and steady play at the net to capture the opening set, 25-18. The second frame proved tighter, but the Lady Lions held their composure down the stretch to secure a 25-22 win. Pineville then closed the match in convincing fashion, pulling away in the third set, 25-16, to seal the sweep.
