CORBIN — Harlan County turned in a stellar defensive effort on Saturday, defeating Clay County, 21-0, in a 13th Region matchup.
The game was a defensive battle throughout but Harlan County broke through with 12 seconds left in the first half behind Brayden Morris’ eight-yard touchdown pass to Gunner Burkhart, giving the Black Bears a 7-0 lead.
Morris’ second touchdown pass, a 23-yarder to Gage Bailey increased Harlan County’s lead to 14-0 with 5:30 remaining in the third quarter.
The Black Bears added another touchdown to secure the 21-point win.
