Corbin goes on the road to defeat Boyle County in straight sets

DANVILLE — Krystal Jones’ Corbin Lady Redhounds hit the road to begin the season, coming away with a three-set sweep of Boyle County.

The Lady Redhounds (1-0) picked up a slim 27-25 win in the first set before rolling to a 25-18 victory in the second set, and a 25-23 win in the third set.

“Tonight our Redhounds came away with a hard-fought victory on the road at Boyle County,” Jones said. “It was a close match from start to finish, and I’m so proud of the way our girls stayed composed under pressure and found a way to finish strong.

“Games like this are great early tests for us,” she added. “Boyle made us earn every point, and that type of competition only makes us better. We had stretches of great execution and some moments where we’ll need to clean things up, but the fight and determination our team showed tonight says a lot about their character. Getting that first road win in a tight battle is something we can really build on moving forward. I’m excited to see how this group continues to grow as the season goes on. Go Hounds.”
