BARBOURVILLE — After being held scoreless for two games, Hannah Goins’ Corbin Lady Redhounds struck for eight goals during their 8-0 win over Knox Central.
The eight-goal win advances Corbin (1-2) to the finals of the Kentucky 2A, Section 7 title game.
Emma Massengill scored four goals in the win while Chloe Hipper, Katie Skeene, Mary Simons, and Sophie Cima each scored a goal apiece. Simons also had two assists while Madalyn Niehaus and Cima finished with one assist apiece.
“We played really well tonight,” Goins said. “We were able to move the ball around and finally got some offense going. It was a good opportunity for us to work on some things. We finally started finding the back of the net, which is the main thing we’ve been working on, so I was very pleased with our performance.
“We were able to rotate quite a bit and get some younger players some time and experience,” she added. “We played very well as a team and I’m looking forward to our continued improvement.”
