LONDON — North Laurel’s struggled with consistency during Saturday’s match with Russell, resulting into a 4-3 loss, dropping the Jaguars to 1-1-1.
“Didn’t feel that we played very well today,” North Laurel coach David Broyles said. “Not sure if it was the heat or what, but we were disconnected as a team from the start. Once again, we allowed our opponent to score first just a few minutes in. We were able to equalize on an olympico goal by Zachary Jacobs.
“We didn’t capitalize on the momentum though and allowed them to take a 2-1 lead at half,” he added. “We tied it up early in the second when Jaxon Jacobs assisted Cam Anderson. Once again though we gave up a goal to go down, 3-2. Jaxon Jacobs tied it up on a PK, but we gave up a late goal for the 4-3 final. We have to play better than what we showed today. Simple lapses cost us today.”
