Jaguars open season with one-all draw to Madison Central

LONDON — It wasn’t a win, but it wasn’t a loss either as North Laurel’s season-opener with Madison Central resulted in a one-all draw.

The Indians held a 1-0 edge at halftime before Jordan McIntyre assisted a goal by Jaxon Jacobs to tie the game at one apiece.

Neither team scored the remainder of the second half.

“We had a bit of the first game jitters in the first half, but still had several chances to score and just couldn’t quite convert,” North Laurel’s coach David Broyles said. “We let them take a 1-0 lead at half and had to battle back in the second half. We were able to tie it with 18:00 left to go with Jordan McIntyre finding Jaxon Jacobs with a nice through ball to tie it up.

“We continued to battle trying to find a second goal, but just wasn’t able to,” he added. “I felt we didn’t have our best clinical game, but we had excellent effort on both sides of the ball.”

The Jaguars will be back in action Thursday at home against George Rogers Clark.
