CORBIN — Corbin High School’s Kade Elam received the biggest honor in the state today when he was named the 2025 Mr. Baseball award.
Elam, who has signed with the University of Louisville, has turned in a stellar career as a Redhound, leading Corbin to consecutive 13th Region titles, and three during the past four years.
“It couldn’t go to a better young man,” Corbin coach Cody Philpot said. “Kade has worked his tail off to be the best that he could be for as long as I’ve known him, it’s great to see him get rewarded for it. As much press and recognition that Kade has gotten over the years, he’s one that aways tries to make everything about the team instead of himself, that’s just who he is. Seeing him get to take home the most prestigious award in the State is nothing short of amazing and a testament to all of his hard work.”
Elam leads Corbin with a .453 batting average. He also had 43 hits, 39 RBI, four home runs and 20 stolen bases.
On the mound, Elam is 4-1 with two saves and a 0.74 ERA. He has 39 strikeouts in 28 innings.
