Burnett silences Knox Central’s bats in 4-2 Bobcat win 

PINEVILLE — Bell County’s Blake Burnett struck out seven batters, allowing only four hits and one earned run to help guide the Bobcats to a 4-2 victory over Knox Central during first round action of Monday’s 13th Region Baseball Tournament.

Bell County (15-10) scored a run in the first inning and added another in the top of the second to take a 2-0 advantage.

The Panthers (11-12) responded with a run in the bottom of the second to cut their deficit to 2-1. The Bobcats added another insurance runs in the fourth and seventh innings to secure the two-run victory.

Cooper Brock led and Ayden Smith both led Bell County with two hits, an RBI, and a run scored apiece while Jackson Walters and Joseph Brigmon both had a hit and an RBI apiece.

Jaxon Bargo led the Panthers with two hits while Jathan Collins, and Trevor Smith both had a hit apiece. Brady Engle finished with an RBI.
