Colonels drop consecutive games for first time this season, fall to Madison Southern, 8-2

WILLIAMSBURG — Jeremy Shope’s Whitley County Colonels fell to 22-6 after dropping back to back games for the first time this season.

The Colonels fell behind 3-0 in the first inning and never recovered, losing to Madison Southern, 8-2.

The Eagles took an 8-1 lead into the sixth inning before Whitley County scored a run in the sixth inning.

Caden Mountjoy and Eli Powers delivered the Colonels’ lone run-scoring hits while Jason Nunley led the way with two hits. EJ Allen, Dee Parker, Henry Bowling, Kip Allen, and Spencer Bargo each finished with a hit apiece.

Kip Allen took the loss on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while allowing seven hits, and five earned runs.
