LONDON — North Laurel is hitting its stride at the right time, improving to 16-12 while extending its win streak to five games after a 12-0 shut out win over Harlan County on Monday.
Dylan Hurley got the win on the mound, tossing four scoreless innings while allowing only one hit, and finishing with four Ks. Ashton Napier pitched the final inning, allowing a hit, and no earned runs while striking out a batter.
“It was a nice win,” North Laurel coach Darren McWhorter said. “We played well in all facets of the game. Dylan Hurley and Ashton Napier combined for the shutout. Defense played well and we hit the ball well one through nine tonight. Tomorrow we will play a very good Madison Central team.”
The Jaguars scored three runs in the first inning before adding four runs in the second and third innings apiece. They wrapped up the win with a run in the bottom of the fourth.
Cooper Parman continued his red-hot hitting at the plate, delivering a 3-for-3 effort which included two doubles. He also drove in three runs and scored three times. Cameron Smith had two hits and two RBI while Evans and Napier both finished with two hits, an RBI and two runs scored apiece. Cameron Hinkle had a hit and two RBI while Jude McWhorter connected with a home run while finishing with an RBI, and a run scored. Tanner Houchens had a hit, and scored once.
