HARLAN — Corbin continues its dominance on the hard courts with Nate Hill capped off his unbeaten regular season play by capturing this third 13th Region singles title.
“I am very proud of the way our team competed this year,” Corbin coach Jeff Hill said. “Nate was undefeated during the regular season and earned the number one seed at the regional tournament. He defeated Jackson Gilbert in the final, Jackson is a very talented player who always plays hard.”
Joining Hill as region champions are the doubles team duo of Connor Middleton and John Ball.
Hill captured the 13th Region title with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over North Laurel’s Jackson Gilbert while Ball and Middleton defeated Whitley County’s Ben Sharp and Micah Jones, who also qualified for state tournament play, 6-1, 6-0.
“John and Connor were also undefeated during the regular season and were the number one seed in the regional tournament,” Hill said. “They beat a very good Whitley County team in the final.
“This was Nate’s third regional championship,” he added. “He won the previous two doubles championships. John Ball won his second regional championship, and this was Connor Middleton’s first championship.”
