Clay County rallies from two-run deficit to knock off Corbin, 6-4

CORBIN — Clay County evened its record at 10-10 while Corbin falls to 9-12 after the Lady Tigers pulled off a 6-4 win on Friday.

The Lady Redhounds held leads of 2-0 and 4-2 before watching Clay County score the game’s final four runs.

Abby Bowling and Alivia Hoskins teamed up to get the win in the circle for the Lady Tigers. 

Bowling tossed three innings, allowing six hits and four earned runs while striking out three batters. Hoskins threw four scoreless innings, allowing only two hits and striking out two batters.

Presley Griffin led Clay County with a perfect 3-for-3 effort while driving in a run. Sydney Stewart provided two hits, an RBI, and a run scored while Anna Samples and Madison Sizemore both delivered a hit and an RBI apiece. Holly Hacker scored twice while Hoskins finished with one run scored.

Corbin had three players deliver home runs in the loss. Morgan Hicks delivered a home run, finishing with two hits, two RBI and a run scored while Raegan Walker connected with a home run while collecting two hits, an RBI, and two runs scored. Danni Foley also delivered a home run, finishing with a hit, an RBI and a run scored. Chloe Bays, Kaili Sanders and Anela Sanders each finished with a hit apiece.
