MIDDLESBORO — An 11-run first inning is all North Laurel needed during its 17-0 rout of Middlesboro on Thursday.
The Lady Jaguars received home runs by Morgan Edwards and Emma Carl while improving to 20-4 during the process.
“We did a lot of good things tonight offensively,” North Laurel coach Chris Edwards said. “We had hits up and down the lineup, and multiple hits from Katie Sams, Emma Carl, Bella Sizemore, Morgan Edwards and Tessa Monhollen. We also had home runs from Emma and Morgan.”
Carl also got the win in the circle. Limiting the Lady Yellow Jackets to only one hit.
“Pitching wise, Emma gave up a single in the first and that was it,” Edwards said. “She threw really good. Proud of how she threw tonight. Proud of all the girls. Practice tomorrow and prom this weekend before getting ready for the last two weeks of the regular season. Go Jags.”
