MCKEE — Jackson County got back on track and evened its record to 9-9 thanks to a 12-1 win over Whitley County on Thursday.
The Lady Colonels entered the week red-hot but have cooled off after dropping two straight games while falling to 11-13.
Senior Candice Williams celebrated her 18th birthday in style, dominating in the circle and at the plate.
She limited Whitley County to four hits while allowing no earned runs and striking out seven batters. Williams went 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBI, and a run scored. Ella Sallee was 3-for-3 with an RBI, and a run scored while Kylie Moore was 2-for-4 with three RBI, and a run scored. Baylor Berry finished with a hit, an RBI, and scored once while Lexi Brockman finished with two hits, two RBI, and a run scored. Aubrey Estridge connected with a hit and drove in a run while Macy Wathen had a hit and scored twice. Sadie Seals also scored a run.
Madilyn Rains led Whitley County with a 2-for-2 effort while scoring once. Caylee Singleton, Payton Hurst, and Jayden Barton each had a hit apiece.
