CORBIN — Crystal Stidham’s Corbin Lady Redhounds dropped their third game in a row on Tuesday, falling to Madison Southern, 5-4.
The Lady Redhounds (6-7) led 4-3 entering the top of the fifth before the Lady Eagles added two wins to secure the win.
Freshman Olivia Anderson led Corbin with two hits and two RBI while Chloe Bays also had two hits. Morgan Hicks delivered a run-scoring hit while Raegan Walker drove in a run.
Danni Foley took the loss, allowing six hits and three earned runs in seven innings pitched. She struck out 12 batters.
“Big game tonight,” Stidham said. “We came up a little short, but what a game. Super proud of my crew. We’ve suffered some injuries and made some changes but man so proud of my ladies. Danni pitched a great game, 12 Ks on the night, and a few calls could have made a difference but you have to control what you can control, we had a couple missed chances and we can’t leave bases loaded multiple times.
“Madison Southern is a great team and my ladies stepped up and played well, they just came out on top end tonight, 5-4,” she added. “Freshman Olivia Anderson had to step in for Senior Anela Sanders who is out with an injury, but boy did she do great. Came up huge with a hit that tied the game and another hit later to help her team when we needed her. My girls had some great hits but they made some great defensive plays. It was just a great game and I like the direction we are heading as a team. Let’s go Lady Redhounds.”
