MCKEE — Jackson County captured its second straight 13th Region All ‘A’ Classic championship by upending Harlan, 6-1, on Tuesday.
Led by Candice Williams’ stellar pitching effort, and Lexi Brockman’s heroics at the plate, the Lady Generals (6-8) broke open a one-all tie in the bottom of the fifth with two runs before putting the game away with three runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Williams notched a complete game effort, limiting Harlan to two hits and one run while striking out 13 batters. She also added three hits in the win.
Brockman delivered two home runs and three RBI while scoring twice. Kylie Moore added a hit, three RBI, and two runs scored.
