LONDON — North Laurel continued its impressive play on Tuesday just a day after beating crosstown rival South Laurel.
The Lady Jaguars improved to 6-0 with a convincing 10-0 win over Hazard.
“Another good day for our girls. Hits up and down the lineup again,” Edwards said. “The games after a big rivalry game are always difficult. We were a little slow out of the gate but then picked up the pace in the second inning with a big inning. Then we just slowed completely down. Didn’t score again until the sixth when we got the last couple of runs.
“Pitching and defense were good again today. Emma and Tessa ganged up on the shutout and we made a couple of really nice plays,” too,” he added. “A win is a win this time of the year. Gotta work on some things and get better, get ready for the next couple of games then head south. Proud of my team. Go Jags.”
Chris Edwards’ squad delivered 14 hits as a Bella Sizemore connected with her second home run in as many days, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored.
Ellie Adams had three hits, two RBI, and a runs scored while Katie Sams finished with two hits, an RBI, and two runs scored. Morgan Edwards and Bella Finley delivered two hits and an RBI apiece while Emma Carl had a hit, and an RBI.
Tessa Monhollen and Katie Keen each scored I s run apiece.
Carl registered the win, tossing five scoreless innings while allowing five hits, and finishing with five Ks. Monhollen received the save, pitching two scoreless innings while allowing two hits. She finished with four strikeouts.
North Laurel led 2-0 after the first inning and took control of the game with a six-run second inning.
