Yellow Jackets record first win, hands OBI 19-0 loss 

WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg captured its first win of the season along with advancing in the 13th Region All ‘A’ Classic Tournament, advancing to the semifinals with a 19-0 win over Oneida Baptist on Monday.

The Yellow Jackets (1-3) scored 17 runs in the first inning and added two more runs in the second inning to cruise to the win.

“We played well tonight,” Williamsburg coach Brennen Patrick said. “Ethan Reed threw great for us tonight and set us up well for the rest of the All A. We were aggressive at the plate and didn’t miss when we got the pitch we were looking for. Overall, it was good to get that first win under our belts and looking forward to competing tomorrow.”

Reed recorded a no-hitter in three innings of work while striking out eight batters.

Freshman Kevin Wells connected with an inside the park grand slam, finishing with four RBI while Reed delivered two hits and four RBI. Isaiah Sizemore had had a hit and two RBI along with Colton Gobel and Mason Rountree. Hayden Kleinert also drove in a run.
