Pulaski County 8, North Laurel 7
The Jaguars (1-3) lost another heartbreaker in consecutive games. They held a 7-6 lead before Pulaski County rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Cameron Smith led the way with 3-for-4 effort while driving in two runs. Brady Evans collected two hits and drove in two runs while Colton Stewart was 2-for-2 with two RBI.
McCreary Central 6, Williamsburg 0
The Yellow Jackets fell to 0-3 after getting no-hit during their 6-0 loss to McCreary Central.
The Raiders scored three runs in the third inning while adding three more runs in the sixth inning to get the win.
Isaiah Sizemore pitched three innings, allowing three hits and three earned runs while striking out four batters. Jacob Jones also tossed three innings, allowing five hits and one earned run while finishing with one strikeout.
South Laurel 11, Prestonsburg 1
Trey Smith’s Cardinals improved to 2-0 with an 11-1 win over Prestonsburg.
The Cardinals used a four-run second inning along with a five-run fifth inning to secure the 10-run victory.
Waylon Hensley got the win on the mound, allowing three hits and one earned run in five innings of work while striking out seven batters.
Hensley also helped his own cause at the plate with a hit and two RBI. Will Alsip drove in two runs along with Keaton Creech.
South Laurel 3, East Jessamine 0
The Cardinals improved to 2-0 on Saturday and 3-0 on the season as Keaton Smith and Keaton Creech combined to limit the Jaguars to only five hits and no runs.
Smith tossed four innings, surrendering three hits and no runs while fanning five batters. Creech tossed three innings, allowing two hits, and no runs while striking out two batters.
Will Alsip went 3-for-3 at the plate with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored while Jackson Vaughn drove in two runs with a double. He also scored once.
Tates Creek 17, Corbin 4
The Redhounds suffered their first loss of the season, dropping a 17-4 decision to Tates Creek.
Four Corbin pitchers combined to allow 10 hits and 13 earned runs along with eight walks.
The Commodores scored 10 runs in the first three innings and closed the door shut with a seven-run seventh inning.
Trey Person led the Redhounds with two hits and two RBI while Clay Botner finished with two hits, and scored once.
Whitley County 9, Madison Central 3
A five-run fourth inning allowed Whitley County to pull off a 9-3 win over Madison Central.
The Colonels (3-0) were led by Caden Mountjoy’s three-hit, two RBI effort. Jason Nunley delivered a home run and two hits while driving in two runs. EJ Allen had two hits, two RBI, and two runs scored while Henry Bowling connected with two hits, driving in two runs while scoring once.
Trey Walton got the win, tossing 3.1 innings while allowing only one hit and no runs. He struck out two batters.
Danville 13, Barbourville 0
The Tigers were limited to only two hits while committing three errors during their 13-0 loss to Danville.
Luke Hillard and Jaxon Collins had the Tigers (2-1) lone hits.
Rockcastle County 13, Barbourville 2
The Rockets scored 13 runs in the first innings during their 13-2 win over Barbourville.
The Tigers (2-2) scored two runs in the fifth inning. Jaxon Collins led the way with a 2-for-3 effort while driving in two runs for Barbourville.
Harlan 6, Lee, Va. 3
Harlan jumped out to a 6-0 lead and never looked back during its 6-3 win over Lee, Va.
Eli Freyer led the Green Dragons (2-1) with two hits, two RBI and one run scored while Baylor Varner got the win, lasting five innings, allowing only three hits and no earned runs, and finishing with 12 Ks.
Lincoln County 12, Clay County 9
The Tigers (1-1) took an 8-7 lead into the seventh inning before Lincoln County rallied for five runs while picking up a 12-9 victory.
Clay County led 4-2 after two innings of work and 8-6 after the fourth inning.
Johnathan Smith led the Tigers with two hits and two RBI while Talan Marcum finished with a hit, two RBI, and a run scored.
