Lady Colonels even record at 1-1 with 7-0 win over Knox Central 

BARBOURVILLE — Junior Adalee Johnson turned in a stellar pitching effort to lead Whitley County to a 7-0 win over Knox Central.

The Lady Panthers (1-1) were coming off a huge win over Jackson County, but managed only six hits against Johnson while striking out three times.

Whitley County (1-1) took charge early with two runs in the first inning while adding a run apiece in the third, fourth and fifth innings before sealing the win with two runs in the sixth inning.

“I’m super proud of the girls and the way they all played well tonight,” Whitley County coach Angela Singleton said. “All of the girls did well on defense and offense. The hitting, pitching and defense was on point tonight.”

Johnson also delivered a the plate with a home run, two RBI and a run scored. Jayden Barton delivered a hit and two runs scored while Cambree Price had two hits and scored once. Madilyn Rains finished with two hits while Madison Lunsford finished with a hit and an RBI. Hallie Huddleston finished with a hit and a run scored while Morgan Huddleston delivered a hit. Jadynn Johnson scored once in the win.
