Jackson County rebounds from season-opening loss with 15-0 win over Williamsburg

MCKEE — After suffering a 10-7 setback to Knox Central on Monday, Jackson County rebounded with an impressive 15-0 win over Williamsburg in three innings.

Senior Candice Williams was almost unhittable, limiting the Lady Yellow Jackets to only two hits while striking out seven batters.

Jackson County (1-1) scored three runs in the first inning before adding 10 more runs in the second inning to take control of the game. The Lady Generals put the contest away with two more runs in the bottom of the third.

Baylee Berry led Jackson County with a 3-for-3 effort while driving in a run and scoring twice. Kylie Moore is 2-for-3 with two RBI, and two runs scored while Ella Sallee went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and two runs scored. Blakelynn Fee finished the game with a hit, two RBI, and two runs scored while Sadie Seals had a hit, an RBI, and scored twice. Williams collected two hits and scored once while Macey Wathen finished with a hit, an RBI, and a run scored. S. Peel had a hit and scored twice while Aubrey Estridge collected a hit and scored a run.

Brooklyn Taylor and Kyli Monhollen had Williamsburg’s (0-1) lone hits. Monhollen pitched 2.2 innings while allowing 14 hits and four earned runs.
