SOMERSET — Powered by Madison Weymers’, and Charity Steele’s 3-for-3 effort at the plate, Lynn Camp improved to 2-0 thanks to a 16-1 win over Somerset Christian.
Weymer finished with a triple, a double, three RBI, and three runs scored while Steele added a double, two RBI and two runs scored in the 15-run win.
“We started off slow with our bats in the first inning, but the second inning they came alive and we were able to get a lead and hold onto it,” Lynn Camp coach Nikki Hendrix said. “Julie Moore pitched well on the mound again tonight. She got into her groove and was able to get out of some jams. Everyone on the team got a hit tonight. With Maddy Weymers and Charity Steele each having three hits. I was also happy for Bailey Martin coming up with a big home run. That was her first in her career. Overall, this was a great team win and I’m hoping we can build off this momentum and play well the rest of the week.”
The Lady Wildcats finished with 16 hits as five players finished with multiple hits, including Bailey Martin, who had two hits, a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored while Emma Burnette also had two hits, two RBI, and two runs scored.
