WILLIAMSBURG — A 26-point scoring effort from Riley Fuson combined with Bryson Mahan’s 25 points were more than enough during Whitley County’s 80-57 win over Harlan.
The win improves the Colonels to 19-9 while the Green Dragons, who were led by Izack Saylor’s 20 points, falls to 5-23.
“Good win for our guys,” Whitley County coach Eric Swords said. “We were a little out of sync defensively in the first half, but did a much better job in the second half. It was good to see Riley get going again as he had hit a bit of a wall.
“Moving to 19-9 on the season after losing over 90 percent of our scoring and rebounding from a season ago, shows a lot about what type of kids we have,” he added. “We look to finish up strong this week with two more tough games before heading into the district tournament on Tuesday.”
