Panthers continue to roll, hand Leslie County 68-48 loss

BARBOURVILLE — The young guns of Knox Central (18-5) continue to shine, handing Leslie County a 68-48 loss on Thursday.

Grayson Burton poured in 22 points and finished with seven rebounds while Evan Taylor added 13 points. Hayden Melton finished with eight points and 10 rebounds.

“Good team win for my team,” Knox Central coach Mitchell Madden said. “We had two kids in double figures and four others with eighth each. It was a very physical game from start to finish.

“We were up 10 after one quarter, and up five at halftime,” he added. “We came out in third quarter and got up 13 and pushed it on out to 20. We didn’t shoot well tonight but the kids did a great job adjusting and started attacking the rim. We got into some foul trouble early but bench players stepped up big for us. Coach Noble does a great job with his kids he had them well prepared. I love my team.”
