Jaguars bounce back with double-digit victory over Jackson County 

LONDON — North Laurel finished 49th District play with an impressive 77-45 win over Jackson County on Friday, assuring the Jaguars the No. 1 see with the district’s best record at 6-1.

The Jaguars dominated from start to finish, receiving a 24-point scoring effort from Reece Davidson while Kole Jervis added 15 points, and Cooper Elza dished out 11 points.

The Jaguars improved to 15-8 overall and 6-1 against district opponents while the Generals are now 10-13, and 2-4.

“I’m proud of the way our guys bounced back tonight to secure the No. 1 seed in the district,” North Laurel coach Nate Valentine said. “We got off to a great start. Our effort and energy was where it needed to be. We can get some much needed rest and get ready to go next week.”

Five points apiece by Cam Anderson and Davidson allowed North Laurel to claim a 22-8 lead in the first quarter.

Jervis hit three 3-pointers in the second quarter, scoring nine points along with Davidson as the Jaguars held a commanding 54-22 advantage at halftime. 

North Laurel secured the win by scoring 13 points in the second half.

Tansen Truett and Braylon Combs led the Generals with nine points apiece.
