MANCHESTER — The young and talented Knox Central Panthers picked up their biggest win of the season so far by going on the road and handing Clay County a 76-70 loss.
Tydus Summers turned in a double-double, scoring 24 points while grabbing 13 boards while Grayson Burton also had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Hayden Melton finished with eight points and 10 boards while Evan Hubbard added nine points.
The win improved Knox Central to 16-5 while the Tigers fall to 16-6.
“This was an awesome win for our team,” Knox Central coach Mitchell Madden said. “Clay is one the best teams in the region and to go into Clay and pull off a win is great for any team. I told my kids the atmosphere was going to be electric but if we could hold our composure and play smart we had a chance and they did just that. I’m so proud of all my kids & to all our fans that made the trip.”
