SOMERSET — Despite receiving a 27-point scoring effort from Lauren Partin, the Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats couldn’t come away with a win against Somerset on Tuesday.
The Lady Wildcats (1-1) dug themselves an early hole and couldn’t recover, trailing 16-4 at the end of the first quarter and 33-14 at halftime before falling, 65-44.
“Our girls struggled to settle down this evening,” Lynn Camp coach James Prewitt said. “Somerset did a great job making us uncomfortable offensively. Once we settled down and made good passes, we were able to break their press and get some easy baskets.
“Lauren Partin had another great night, and was consistent on the offensive end of the floor,” he added. “Madison Weymers settled us down late and made a huge difference offensively for us. Somerset is a really good basketball team. They play physical, they are really active, and they pressure you constantly. We weren’t ready for that this evening. We have a few days off to get better. We are back in action next Monday in our home opener against McCreary Central.”
