Lady Colonels close out regular season play with Senior Night win over Knox Central

WILLIAMSBURG — The defending 13th Region champion Whitley County Lady Colonels enter postseason play red-hot after winning their third match in a row on Thursday.
The Lady Colonels cruised to a 25-19, 25-12 victory over Knox Central, improving to 25-11.
“This was good night for us filled with a lot of emotion with it being senior night,” Whitley County coach David Halcomb said. “Addison Siler, Kirra Vance and Morgan Huddleston have played volleyball for many years and put in a lot of work for our program and experienced a lot of highs.
“They’ve been dedicated to what we do and have been good leaders for our younger girls to follow,” he added. “It’s good to finish the regular season with a win. Knox Central played well and caused us some problems early on. We also made several hitting errors in the first set. We bounced back in the second set and got into a pretty good rhythm. Just want to give a big thanks for Knox Central for working with us to play our match later in the evening. Also want to give a shout out to our Lady Colonel Soccer team on a great season.”
