Pineville runs win streak to six games, cruises past Clay County with 63-42 win

Elgie Green’s Pineville Lady Mountain Lions captured their sixth win in a row while improving to 6-1 by defeating Clay County on the road Monday with a 63-42 decision.

The Lady Mountain Lions were led once again by guard Nadine Johnson, who tallied 26 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and three steals.

Ava Arnett scored 11 points while finishing with seven rebounds, and three assists while Rachel Howard recorded nine points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks. Abby Jackson scored 10 points, and Kamryn Biliter finished with five points, and six rebounds. 

Jaylen Combs, and Mackenzie Sizemore each scored 12 points apiece to lead Clay County. The loss dropped the Lady Tigers to 3-3.

Pineville will travel to play Harlan County Friday at 7:30 p.m. while Clay County will travel to play Jackson County Thursday at 6 p.m.
