SEASON ENDS: Lady Redhounds dig too big of a hole during 8-2 loss to West Jessamine 

Corbin’s season came to an abrupt end during Thursday’s State Tournament Elite Eight matchup with West Jessamine.

The Lady Redhounds spotted the Lady Colts a 7-0 lead before they found the back of the net.

Corbin entered the game winners of six straight but couldn’t overcome a West Jessamine (12-8-2) squad, who won its sixth match in a row.

Hannah Goins’ squad finishes the season with a 17-5-1 mark.

The Lady Colts scored five goals in the first half to take a 5-0 lead. West Jessamine scored goals during the eighth, ninth, 20th, 25th, and 34th minutes.

Corbin continued to struggle in the second half as goals by West Jessamine during the 47th and 64th minutes pushed its lead to 7-0.

Grace Gibson scored the Lady Redhounds’ first goal of the match during the 70th minute while the Lady Colts added another goal a minute later.

Olivia Jones’ goal with 44 second remaining, made the final score, 8-2.

Gibson finishes the season with a program-best 52 goals while Jones had 36 goals.
