RED BIRD — Clay County continued its strong play against district competition Monday, cruising to a straight-set victory over Red Bird in 49th District volleyball action.
The Lady Tigers set the tone with a dominant 25-12 victory in the opening set and never allowed Red Bird to gain much momentum.
Clay County (4-3) followed with a 25-15 win in the second set before closing out the sweep with a convincing 25-11 victory in the third.
The win gave Clay County another important 49th District victory, this time coming on the road following a busy weekend of volleyball.
“I’m proud of these girls maintaining focus after a busy weekend of volleyball,” Clay County coach Kendall Deaton Culver said. “It’s always good when you can secure a district win on the road. It’s just another step in the right direction to reaching our goal this season. On to the next one. Go Big Clay.”
