McWhorter, Jaguars Dominate Perry Central in 42-7 Win

LONDON — Jude McWhorter broke loose for a pair of long touchdown runs while North Laurel’s defense added a score of its own as the Jaguars dominated Perry Central, 42-7.

North Laurel coach Steven Nelson was pleased with how completely his team controlled the game.

“Super-proud of our team tonight!” Nelson said. “Perry Central was a really good football team, and we came out and took the game over from start to finish. I loved the way we moved the ball on offense, and all our skill guys contributed and had great games.

“Defense played phenomenal, and offensive line was outstanding all game,” he added. “Special teams played better as the game went on, and we have to get better in that area of the game. Cam kicked it in the end zone every kickoff, and when we got our snaps down, it was perfect. We played great, but we can always get better. Go Jags.”

McWhorter completed 7-of-9 pass attempts for 117 yards and a touchdown. He also had 12 carries for 170 yards and two touchdowns.

Caleb Roark dominated on defense with eight tackles and three sacks.

North Laurel controlled the game from start to finish, building a 27-7 halftime advantage before adding two more touchdowns in the third quarter.

Bryson Nantz put the Jaguars on the scoreboard with a touchdown run with 8:40 remaining in the first quarter. The extra point gave North Laurel a 7-0 lead it carried into the second quarter.

McWhorter then went to work.
