LONDON — The Jason Welch era at North Laurel High School started out with a draw as the Lady Jaguars fought to a 1-1 tie against Taylor County on Monday.
McKinley Mastin scored North Laurel’s lone goal as the two teams battled throughout the match.
“We possessed the ball very well and created lots of opportunities near the goal but was only able to get one to fall in,” Welch said. “Our defense played very well and kept us within reach of winning after falling down 1-0 midway through the first half. We came out of halftime very strong and were able to tie the game. Overall, not a bad way to start our season.”
