LONDON — North Laurel opened the 2026 season in impressive fashion Saturday as Reilly Stuber recorded a hat trick to help lead the Jaguars to a 5-3 win over Montgomery County.
The victory moves North Laurel to 1-0 on the season.
Stuber led the Jaguars’ offensive attack with three goals while Malik Turner finished with a goal and an assist. Braylon Bishop also found the back of the net for North Laurel.
Zach Jacobs played a major role in creating scoring opportunities, finishing with two assists while Malik Turner and Peyton McPhetridge both added an assist.
“We came out today and possessed the ball well,” North Laurel coach David Broyles said. “We made passes and found teammates to create space and openings for scoring opportunities. We were able to get on the scoreboard first when Reilly Stuber scored off a Zach Jacobs pass. We conceded a goal after a water break to make it 1-1 at the half.”
The Jaguars wasted little time regaining control after halftime.
“We opened the second half aggressively and scored quickly when Zach Jacobs found Braylon Bishop for a goal,” Broyles said. “We followed that quickly with Malik Turner scoring on a breakaway from 25 yards out. We allowed a second goal after the second half water break to make it 3-2.”
North Laurel answered Montgomery County’s second goal by turning to Stuber, who scored twice more to complete his hat trick and help put the game away.
“We were able to add a fourth goal when Peyton McPhetridge found Reilly Stuber for a goal,” Broyles said. “We capped off our scoring when Zach Jacobs found his third assist of the day on a pass to Reilly Stuber for his third goal, giving him a hat trick.”
