LONDON — Cooper Thomas tossed a three-hit shutout while Jake Brewer and Chris Rouse each drove in two runs as Harlan rolled to a 10-0 victory over Lynn Camp in first-round action of the 13th Region Baseball Tournament on Monday at North Laurel.
Thomas led the Green Dragons (18-13) at the plate by going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI while also earning the win on the mound. The sophomore worked all five innings, allowing just three hits while striking out two.
Brewer tripled and finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI for Harlan, which improved to 17-13 on the season. Rouse added a hit and two RBI while Baylor Varner doubled and drove in a run.
Brody Owens collected two hits and scored twice while Braxton Bowen and Grant Shelton each crossed the plate once. The Green Dragons finished with 10 hits and broke the game open with a five-run fourth inning before adding three more runs in the fifth.
Lynn Camp (9-16) was limited to three hits in the loss. Braylon Humfleet doubled while DJ Wren and Cameron Smith each singled for the Wildcats.
