WINCHESTER — South Laurel’s dominance continues to grow stronger by the game.
The Lady Cardinals extended their winning streak to 10 straight games Thursday with a commanding 10-0 victory over George Rogers Clark, improving to 31-5 on the season.
South Laurel has now won 18 of its last 19 games and has recorded seven shutouts during its current 10-game winning streak.
Kenzie Williams was electric in the circle and at the plate.
She fired a complete-game three-hit shutout while striking out 12 and walking just one. Williams also added two hits and an RBI at the plate.
“Was good to go on the road tonight and get a quality win,” South Laurel coach Carly Mink said. “Kenzie gave us a great effort, limiting GRC to three hits and striking out 12.
“Offensively, we had a lot of quality at bats throughout the game,” she added. “We had runners on and were able to move them around and score. Lexi had a big night with six RBI and a big home run.”
Lexi Messer powered the South Laurel offense with a huge night, going 2-for-4 with a home run and six RBI. Bailey Frazier added a double, scored twice and reached base twice while Kiley Dunaway collected two hits and a double.
Ryleigh Bretz scored twice and drove in a run while Aubrie Messer and Emmie Rice also added hits for the Lady Cardinals, who finished with 10 hits overall.
