CORBIN — Nikki Hendrix’s Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats got a much-needed win in Monday, rallying past Lee County, 20-10.
Lee County jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first inning but the Lady Wildcats (5-13) answered with seven runs in the bottom of the first and six more runs in the bottom of the second inning to take control of the game.
“I’m proud of how the girls played today,” Hendrix said. “They played a complete game and when the game got close they didn’t quit. Julie Moore came in the game and took over the pitching duties and pitched her best game all season. She had 11 strikeouts.
“Offensively, everyone on the team got at least one hit and one RBI,” she added. “Lorelai Prewitt had a hot bat, going 4-for-5 and four RBI. Emma Burnette had been in a slump, but she came up big tonight. Hope we can keep this momentum going.”
Lorelai Prewitt finished with four hits, four RBI, and scored three times in the win while Alissa Weymers had four hits, an RBI, and scored twice.
Lily Henzie continued her hit streak at the plate with three hits, an RBI, and three runs scored while Lauren Partin had three hits, an RBI, and three runs scored. Bella Gambell had two hits, three RBI, and scored twice while Emma Burnette had two hits, two RBI, and scored once. Regan Buckles totaled two hits, an RBI, and three runs scored while Bailey Disney delivered two hits, three RBI, and one run scored. Julie Moore had a hit, an RBI, and two runs scored getting the win, and finishing with 11 Ks.
