Lewis, Lady Dragons too much for Lynn Camp in 14-2 rout

HARLAN — Harlan wasted no time taking control Friday, erupting for eight runs in the first inning on the way to a 14-2 win over Lynn Camp in five innings.

The Lady Green Dragons (1-0) added two runs in the second, one more in the third, and three in the fourth while piling up six hits and taking advantage of 11 walks.

Ava Lewis led the way for Harlan both in the circle and at the plate. Lewis tossed a three-hitter over five innings, allowing two runs while striking out 12 and walking just one. She also finished 2-for-2 with two runs scored and three RBI.

Gracie Hensley added a 2-for-4 effort with two RBI and a run scored while Jordyn Shackleford went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Taylor Glenn finished 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Harlan also created pressure on the bases. Glenn stole two bases while Addison Campbell and Addyson Patton added one steal each.

Lynn Camp (0-2) managed three hits in the loss. Julie Moore and Lily Henize each had one hit while Lorelai Prewitt added a double. Moore scored one run and worked four innings in the circle.

Harlan finished with 14 runs on six hits, while Lynn Camp scored two runs on three hits.
