Clay County put together another solid performance on Tuesday, defeating McCreary Central 51–28 to improve to 6–5 on the season.
The Lady Tigers set the tone early, jumping out to a 12–4 lead after the first quarter and extending the advantage to 28–10 by halftime. Clay County continued to control the game in the third quarter, taking a commanding 43–17 lead into the final period before closing out the win.
Carly Fultz and Maci White led the way with 12 points apiece. Fultz also pulled down eight rebounds while White was active defensively with four steals. Kenzie Grubb added seven points, and Anna Samples and Harper Rice chipped in six points each.
Clay County coach Gemma Parks said the recent stretch has been encouraging for her team.
“We’ve had two good bounce back games to boost confidence,” she said. “We’re working on the little things it takes to win and eliminating holes on defense. Looking forward to a hard fought game Friday night at Bell County.”
