WILLIAMSBURG — The Whitley County Colonels continued their strong early-season play with a 77-66 victory over Clarkrange, Tenn., earning their second win in as many days and improving to 4-1 on the season.
Whitley County was led offensively by Tootie Mahan, who poured in a game-high 27 points. Levi Jackson and Garrett Sharpe each finished with 14 points, while Henry Bowling added nine as the Colonels showcased balanced scoring throughout the lineup.
Following the win, Whitley County coach Eric Swords was pleased with his team’s performance, especially on the offensive end.
“Another good win on back to back nights,” he said. “Love how our guys are sharing it. I thought Riley did a great job of finding people but he’s also got to be aggressive to score it. Still got to continue to guard better. We will start getting ready for a big game against Clay County on Tuesday.”
