Lady Jaguars Power Past Estill County, 7-1

LONDON — North Laurel put together a dominant second-half performance on Saturday, defeating Estill County 7-1 to improve to 7-4 on the season.

The Lady Jaguars spread the scoring around, with Presley Thompson, McKinley Mastin, Eden Begley, and Mia Thompson each finding the net. Mastin also added an assist. Leading the way was Lauren Crouch, who recorded a hat trick with three goals.

Head coach Kayla Carson said her team found its rhythm after a slow start.

“We started out a little flat,” she said. “That’s the gamble you usually take with Saturday games but we were able to step it up in the second half and finish strong.

“Lauren Crouch had another good scoring day. Mia Thompson continues to contribute offensively for us,” Carson added. “Defense was solid today. Carleigh Feltner stepped up and played very well back there.”
