STANFORD — Brooks Cawood’s South Laurel Cardinals battled to their second draw this season, finishing with a one-all tie against Boyle County.
“Blake Robinson scored on a great ball from Jase Jones,” Cawood said. “After that, they were able to convert a penalty kick off of a hand ball in the box.
“It was a great game for us, possession wise but finishing continues to be our biggest downfall,” he added. “We had some good looks that we really should have capitalized on. Defensively, our back line was solid tonight. They did very well at closing in to force errors and get the ball moving up the field.”
