Barbourville — Bell County continued its strong start to the season by sweeping host Knox Central, 3-0, on Monday night.
The Lady Cats took control early, pulling away for a 25-17 win in the first set. In the second, Knox Central jumped out to a 3-1 lead before Bell responded with a 10-2 run, seizing momentum and never looking back in a 25-16 victory.
The third set was tighter in the early stages, with the teams tied at 6, but Bell pulled away after an 18-13 lead, using a 6-0 run to take full control. They closed out the match with another 25-16 win.
With the victory, Bell County improves to 7-3 and will host Harlan High School on September 9.
Knox Central drops to 6-4 and will look to bounce back at home against Oneida Baptist Institute on the same date.
