Wildcats Stay Perfect with Shutout Win at Berea

BEREA — The Lynn Camp Wildcats kept their unbeaten season rolling in dominant fashion, shutting out Berea on the road, 43-0.

It was a night to remember for the Wildcats’ ground game, as three different running backs eclipsed the 100-yard mark. DJ Wren led the charge with over 200 rushing yards, while Braylon Humfleet and Jamie Gregory each topped the century mark themselves. Humfleet also made his presence felt on special teams, returning a punt for another touchdown.

“I’m really proud of our guys,” Lynn Camp coach Darrell Hendrix said. “We had a good week of practice cleaning up somethings we had been struggling at. Offensive line blocked their tails off tonight. Braylon also returned another punt for a touchdown. We started Conner Mabe at quarterback tonight and he did great. Our defense had a great night. I’m pretty sure that’s the first shutout we’ve had in a long time. We will get back to work and prepare for a very good Knott County team.”

The Wildcats’ defense set the tone early and never let up, not only keeping Berea off the scoreboard but also limiting them to minimal yardage.
